• Red Sox stay hot. Boston defeated the White Sox behind a grand slam from Caleb Durbin, helping strengthen their playoff position.

Cubs beat Dodgers 5-1

•     Tarik Skubal’s Dodgers debut ends in a loss. The Chicago Cubs beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 5–1, with Dansby Swanson leading the way offensively. Skubal allowed two runs over six innings in his first start for Los Angeles after being acquired at the trade deadline.

• George Lombard Jr. makes a memorable Yankees debut. The highly regarded rookie homered in his first major league game as the Yankees picked up a win, giving New York fans plenty to celebrate.

•     Brewers reach 70 wins first. Milwaukee became the first team in MLB to hit the 70-win mark this season after defeating the Pittsburgh Pirates 4–2. Home runs from Jackson Chourio and Andrew Vaughn powered the victory.

• Alongside Tarik the Los Angeles also acquired Kris Bubic, reinforcing their statue as World Series favorites.
